Commodity Watch: Copper futures slip on subdued demand

New Delhi: Copper prices fell Rs 2.10 to Rs 1,221 per kilogram in the futures trade, weighed down by muted demand in the domestic spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper for April delivery slipped 0.17 per cent in a turnover of 63 lots. Traders said subdued domestic demand from consuming industries weighed on copper prices in futures trade.
Aluminium futures fall on low bets
Aluminium prices dropped by Rs 1.75 to Rs 352.40 per kg in the futures trade as participants trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in spot markets. Aluminium for delivery in April fell 0.49 per cent in 67 lots. Cutting down of positions by participants on easing demand kept aluminium prices lower.
Zinc futures ease on weak trend
Zinc prices fell 55 paise to Rs 328 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market. Zinc contracts for April delivery slipped by 0.17 per cent in a 78 lots.
